Judgment, Discernment

Do you think we are called to suspend discernment?

If there's a distinction between judgment and discernment, what is that distinction?

Let us say someone in the mold of Pete Doherty comes 'round your house seeking to take your daughter on a date in 8 or so years' time. Do you "let go of your inner judgment" ... or do you employ practical discernment?

This goes, of course, to the "Judge not lest ye be judged" commandment.

It's not a clear-cut thing, obviously.
