Dire Straits

I'm giving short shrift to Dire Straits, who may be my favorite band of all time:

• Portobello Belle - "Communique" CD
  
• Your Latest Trick - "Brothers in Arms" CD
  
• Romeo and Juliet - "Making Movies" CD

Mark Knopfler did a duet CD with Chet Atkins called "Neck and Neck." Some really good guitar work on this album, as you'd expect from Atkins - a giant among guitar players - and Knopfler, no slouch himself. What was striking to me was the way that Atkins humbly took a background role on the CD and allowed Knopfler's more aggressive style to step forward.
