Wormwood

Not a seventh stone, not a cornerstone, but one very large rock as big as the USA with Earth's name on it is out there somewhere, The Bible may even be referring to it in Revelation:

Rev 8:11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Maybe it was an asteroid similar to Wormwood that wiped out the dinosaurs, maybe it was something else, we may never know, but we can know that there is a very high probability of one hitting our Earth. The very fact that you and I witnessed the many parts of Shoemaker-Levy slam into Jupiter in our lifetime statistically bears this out incredibly well.

The hunt for Wormwood is on. Ok, there are those who look for Wormwood in Bible codes (eg. http://exodus2006.com/Warning.htm) and may get a date of 2011. There are more scientific approaches of mapping out the orbits of many of these stones as we can see. I read that there is a very promising candidate in the asteroid belt that will get real close to the Earth in about six hundred years.

My point of this post is that unless we find another form of energy (dark energy? spacetime warp energy?) the only way that we are going to stop Wormwood is with nuclear power. This is why I am not in favour of the anti-nuclear conservationist lobby. To anti-nuclear protesters I say think on, Wormwood may kill all of the whales, all of humanity, every last virus. The biggest anti-conservationist (much worse than George W.) in one extinction level event.

There are a couple of reasons that we need to develop and harness the power of the atomic nucleus .. one is to defeat Wormwood and the other is to escape the "gravity well" of the sun.

The Earth is approximately 4.5 US billion years old. It's about 50% of the way through it's life (barring accidents, or acts of God). At the end of it's life it will be engulfed by the perimeter of the sun as Sol expands and "goes nova" (it is not massive enough to supernova). If "humanity" (or whatever we become) is going to survive we need to get away from this Sun and go and live somewhere else, or take the Earth somewhere else. Or fix the Sun going nova. We could pray to God for these things but my guess is that we are going to need a technological solution.

Maybe my post is in the anti political correctness vein, again. Maybe I'm just sharing my long term perspectives with you?
