Maybe "good" can be defined as living units that play by the golden rule gene and "evil" things are those that don't?
Examples:
The flowering plants in my garden mostly stay put even though I do little to maintain my garden. Weeds on the other had seem to have no respect for the golden rule, they grow everywhere - they're pretty easy to kill and I would say have no golden rule.
Cancer cells are missing the switch that says "stop making copies of yourself", normal cells will make 50-70 copies of themselves before the golden rule switch kicks in. Cancer cells are almost immortal in that given the correct nutrients and environment they will go on duplicating forever, seemingly like weeds.
Note: I suspect that the medical eucharist, an elixir for immortality, will be based on solutions from studies of cancer cells.
In fact, cancer cells are a good example of "population A" - the one that kills itself off because it is 100% selfish. Cancer cells eventually kill the host, and themselves in the process.
Are weeds and cancer evil?
You HAVE been reading Hello! Oh man what a superfical site, great fun dipping in but I wouldn't like to live there. Sorry, Pete Murphy was singer in another band, I get confused a lot these days!
